Micron Stock’s 10-K Filing Reveals a 33.8% Valuation Gap

Based on GuruFocus data published following Micron’s October 9, 2026 10-K filing, Micron shares are currently trading roughly 33.8% higher than their estimated fair value. This valuation discrepancy arises from a GF Value of $768.96 compared against a closing price of $1,029. Meanwhile, the consensus one-year price target sits at $1,555.13, leaving the overall outlook divided between massive earnings and an elevated share price.

What The Micron 10-K Filing Shows

The 10-K report details the fiscal year ending September 3, 2026, displaying massive financial figures. Revenue surged to $133.2 billion from $37.4 billion the previous year. Operating income similarly climbed to $99.3 billion compared to $9.8 billion in 2025, alongside a gross margin of $107.5 billion. These metrics are central to the current valuation, illustrating the drivers behind the equity’s sharp ascent this year.

Demand from AI data centers drove the majority of this momentum. Micron is scaling high-bandwidth memory (HBM) production for artificial intelligence processors—with HBM4E next in line—and recently rolled out its 1-gamma DRAM node utilizing EUV lithography. Chairman and CEO Sanjay Mehrotra noted:

“Micron delivered record fiscal 2026 results, and we expect an even stronger fiscal 2027.”

Why GuruFocus Sees A 33.8% Valuation Gap

Although Micron holds a GF Score of 93/100, that metric tells only part of the story. The company achieves a 10/10 in Growth, 9/10 in both Financial Strength and Profitability, and 6/10 in Momentum. Valuation lags behind at a mere 5/10, directly creating the observed gap. According to GuruFocus’ calculations, the market price has outpaced the fundamental worth of the enterprise.

Much of this stems from the stock’s stellar rally. At the time of publication, MU shares have gained 260.53% year-to-date and 435.02% over the trailing 12 months. Nevertheless, the equity trades at a trailing price-to-earnings ratio of just 13.84, supported by earnings per share of $74.33, indicating that the valuation is backed by tangible profits rather than pure speculation.

Micron Stock Price Target And Forecast

Wall Street analysts view the metrics through a different lens than GuruFocus. The $1,555.13 target implies roughly 51% potential upside from the $1,029 close, contrasting with the downside suggested by the GF Value. This divergence fuels ongoing debates regarding the company’s worth.

Near-term projections also appear robust. Micron’s guidance for fiscal first-quarter 2027 anticipates revenue of $61.5 billion, give or take $1.5 billion, with executives reporting that most of its 2027 HBM inventory is already pre-sold. CFO Mark Murphy remarked:

“Our inventory levels and supply remain extremely tight and we expect DIO to decline in the coming quarters.”

Certain vulnerabilities persist. The 10-K filing highlights the cyclicality of memory chips, warning that a pullback in demand could rapidly deflate pricing. Additionally, China’s Cyberspace Administration restricted domestic critical infrastructure operators from purchasing Micron merchandise back in May 2023. Corporate insiders also offloaded $373.9 million in equities over the past year while acquiring just $7.8 million.

Presently, the valuation gap remains wide, and future assessments will face their next major catalyst when earnings are reported on December 23, 2026. That disclosure could reshape both future projections and analyst targets. Furthermore, Micron distributes a $0.15 dividend with an ex-dividend date of October 14.
