ASML Stock Rises as Profit Beats Estimates & Demand Extends Into 2030

ASML Stock Rises as Profit Beats Estimates & Demand Extends Into 2030

Shares of ASML are currently drawing significant attention following the Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer’s announcement of a third-quarter net profit totaling 4.96 billion euros, surpassing the 4.1 billion euros anticipated by analysts. Additionally, the latest ASML earnings report elevated the baseline for the company’s 2026 revenue forecast, which now targets a range between 44 billion and 45 billion euros. Furthermore, expression of interest from certain customers to book orders spanning 2029 and 2030 could reshape the overarching ASML stock forecast and individual price targets.

ASML Earnings Beat Estimates as AI Demand Drives Long-Term Growth

During the July through September period, ASML generated record net sales of 11.66 billion euros, falling just slightly short of the 11.72 billion euro LSEG consensus estimate. Profit performed strongly, driven by a gross margin of 57.5%, which outperformed corporate guidance according to the official press release. For investors tracking ASML stock, this margin carries as much weight as top-line sales.

Customers Already Want Orders For 2029 And 2030

ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet remarked in the press release:

“Our customers continue to increase their short- and medium-term equipment demand forecasts with us, driven primarily by their views on the size and duration of AI-related investments.”

He additionally noted:

“In light of their demand visibility, some customers are expressing an interest in placing orders with us for 2029 and even 2030.”

Fouquet explained that scheduled manufacturing capacity for 2027 and 2028 will not fully satisfy demand. Because ASML remains the exclusive producer of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography systems, and with TSMC and Samsung committing to next-generation High NA EUV tools during the quarter, the company has secured strong customer lock-in. This dynamic helps account for the resilience displayed by ASML stock and its corresponding forecasts throughout the year.

Addressing production volume, Fouquet stated:

“Given this, we are investigating ways to increase capacity for 2028 beyond the 30% increase we previously communicated.”

ASML Revenue Forecast And Q4 Guidance Move Higher

The floor of the annual ASML revenue projection increased from 43 billion to 44 billion euros, translating to approximately $49.3 billion to $50.4 billion. ASML had previously revised its outlook upward back in July.

Fouquet stated:

“We expect fourth-quarter 2026 total net sales between €14.2 billion and €15.2 billion, with a gross margin around 57%.”

The upper boundary of that projected range exceeds the 14.2 billion euro LSEG consensus. Having climbed 56% over the course of 2026, ASML stock faced elevated expectations heading into these financial results. Prior to the report’s release, TipRanks figures highlighted by TradingKey indicated an average ASML stock price target of $2,470.81—featuring a high estimate of $2,865.89 and a low of $2,100—with all six covering analysts maintaining Buy ratings.

China And Export Limits Still Weigh On ASML Stock

ASML continues to anticipate that China will account for 20% of its total business operations. Regulatory restrictions bar the company from shipping EUV and specific DUV machinery to the region, and a July report from The Information revealed that an unidentified Chinese entity had begun developing an immersion DUV apparatus. While analysts remain uncertain about how rapidly China can scale such technology, it persists as a long-term risk factor for ASML stock.

At the time of publication, subsequent adjustments to any ASML stock price target will likely hinge on the scale of additional 2028 production capacity the company can unlock and whether current interest for 2029 and 2030 converts into binding orders. Ultimately, robust demand extending toward the end of the decade ensures that the ASML stock forecast remains closely intertwined with broader artificial intelligence expenditures.
