DAC Highlights Need for Quantum-Resistant Infrastructure as Italy Prepares to Unveil First Quantum Supercomputer and Industrial Quantum Annealer

As Italy unveils its first quantum supercomputer and industrial quantum annealer at the Digital Innovation Forum 2026, DAC highlights the urgent need for quantum-resistant blockchain infrastructure to protect digital assets from future cryptographic threats.

As Italy prepares to launch its first Quantum Supercomputer and industrial quantum annealer, Volta B1, today, October 16, at the Digital Innovation Forum 2026, the quantum-resistant Layer-1 blockchain project DAC has emphasized the urgent demand for post-quantum security measures.

DAC Spearheading Italy’s Quantum Computing Ambitions

Today’s rollouts represent a major leap forward for Italy’s quantum ambitions, establishing Volta B1 as one of the most sophisticated quantum infrastructures in Europe. Created under the technical and scientific guidance of Q-Alliance, the initiative simultaneously refocuses attention on the longevity of digital security as quantum capabilities progress.

Davide Costa, Head of Innovation at DAC, took part in the Forum’s panel discussion titled “Frontier Technologies: Quantum Computing, HPC for Quantum Computing, Supercomputers and Blockchain,” appearing alongside delegates from academic, research, and tech sectors.

The conversation centered on progress in computing technologies and the infrastructure necessary to back upcoming innovations. Anticipating the power of future quantum computing holds particular urgency for blockchain architectures, which rely on cryptography to protect transactions and digital assets.

“The inauguration of Italy’s first Quantum Supercomputer and industrial quantum annealer marks a major milestone in quantum technology. While these advances unlock new possibilities, they also reinforce the need to prepare for future threats to the cryptographic systems securing blockchain networks. At DAC, we’re addressing this challenge by embedding quantum resistance into blockchain infrastructure from the outset,” stated Davide Costa, Head of Innovation at DAC.

DAC is currently building an EVM-compatible, quantum-resistant Layer-1 blockchain. Powered by Proof of Quantum Work (PoQW) and quantum entropy, DAC Blockchain technology aims to deliver robust, long-term cryptographic protection alongside predictable transaction fees for commercial users.

Throughout the Digital Innovation Forum 2026 conferences, members of the DAC team engaged with quantum computing leaders and specialists as Europe continues to advance its quantum capabilities and scale up the development of future-proof digital infrastructure.

About DAC

DAC Blockchain is a quantum-resistant EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain, developed by DAC Labs. Its architecture incorporates Proof of Quantum Work (PoQW) and quantum entropy to support secure, scalable blockchain infrastructure with predictable transaction costs. Designed for businesses and developers, DAC supports smart contracts, decentralized applications, and digital asset transactions while prioritizing long-term resilience against emerging quantum computing threats.
