XRP Price: Can Bulls Push XRP Above $1.60 This Week?

XRP trades near $1.50 after dropping 4.5% over seven days. Bulls must defend the $1.48-$1.50 support range and overcome the $1.58-$1.60 resistance barrier to push the token back above $1.60 this week.

XRP Price: Can Bulls Push XRP Above $1.60 This Week?

Currently changing hands at roughly $1.50, XRP has dropped 4.5% over the past seven days. Bulls must now defend the $1.48-$1.50 range while overcoming the $1.58-$1.60 resistance barrier to push the token back above $1.60. Having previously reached $1.6582 last week, current XRP price forecasts depend on whether the asset tests $1.60 anew or slips toward $1.44-$1.45.

XRP This Week: Price Prediction, $1.60 Target And Key Resistance

This price action follows a substantial upward move. The cryptocurrency surged roughly 33% on the two-hour Binance chart, rising from a September 16 low near $1.2457 to peak at $1.6582. CoinGecko figures indicate that the token has traded between $1.47 and $1.56 over the last 24 hours.

XRP Price Holds Above Former Resistance

On the bright side, XRP continues to maintain its position just above the $1.48-$1.49 zone, which previously acted as a ceiling before the breakout. An initial rejection from above $1.60 pulled the price down into the upper $1.40s, and a subsequent attempt toward $1.60 also fell short of the $1.6582 high, establishing a short-term pattern of lower highs.

This downward correction arrived alongside comments from Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse published on X on September 24. When questioned about why investors should choose XRP over Solana over the next five years, Garlinghouse stated:

“I’m not one of these people who’s an XRP maximalist, I’m bullish on a bunch of cryptos for a bunch of reasons.”

The immediate support levels to monitor are $1.48-$1.50, followed by $1.44-$1.45. Conversely, XRP needs to recapture $1.55 first, and a decisive break past $1.60 would bring the $1.6582 peak back into focus.

Indicators Cool As XRP Ledger Ships An Emergency Fix

Technical metrics such as the RSI, MACD, and CCI indicate that market momentum has cooled significantly. Three separate RSI values stand near 39.27, 42.79, and 48.14, staying below the neutral 50 threshold, while the MACD remains negative with a histogram hovering near -0.0082.

Meanwhile, developers of the XRP Ledger deployed xrpld 3.4.1. The official XRPL announcement noted:

“This is an emergency release to fix security-sensitive issues in the XRPL protocol. This release introduces a new amendment, fixBatchV1_2, with the default vote set to “Yes”.”

XRP Ledger Operations shared the following update on X:

“xrpld 3.4.1 is being released with a Batch fix and stability improvements. We’re asking validators and node operators to upgrade as soon as possible. There has been no impact to mainnet, and no loss of funds.”

Although this patch has already secured a validator supermajority and is slated to launch on October 9, it functions primarily as a network development rather than an immediate price driver for XRP.

XRP Price Prediction: Can Bulls Reclaim $1.60?

The near-term outlook depends heavily on the $1.48-$1.50 band. As long as this floor remains intact, another test of $1.60 remains probable, with the $1.58-$1.60 zone serving as the principal resistance area. Potential outcomes include:

Scenario What XRP Needs To Do Areas To Watch
Bullish Hold $1.48-$1.50, recover $1.55 and clear $1.60 $1.60, then $1.65-$1.66
Base Case Keep holding former resistance $1.48-$1.58 range
Bearish Lose $1.48 decisively and fail to reclaim it $1.44-$1.45, then $1.39-$1.42

Should buyers successfully defend the previous resistance level, XRP could mount another push toward the $1.60-$1.66 range this week. However, a decisive breakdown below $1.48 would pull valuations down toward $1.44-$1.45.
